Hepatitis B Screening is a simple blood test that checks for the presence of the Hepatitis B virus (HBV) or antibodies against it. This screening helps identify whether a person is currently infected, has had a past infection, or has immunity to the virus through vaccination. Early detection is crucial because Hepatitis B can cause serious liver problems, including chronic liver disease, cirrhosis, and liver cancer if left untreated. Regular screening is especially important for individuals at higher risk, such as healthcare workers, pregnant women, people with multiple sexual partners, and those with a family history of liver disease.
